Wheelchair and specialised seating service
The wheelchair and specialised seating service supplies wheelchairs and associated equipment free of charge to North Tyneside residents who have long term mobility impairment due to illness, disability or advancing years. This includes the assessment, provision and maintenance of manual and powered wheelchairs and their associated special seating, pressure relieving cushions, accessories and modifications.
How can I access the service?
To access wheelchair services you must be referred by one of the following:
- Health care professional
- Your GP
- A hospital consultant
Once registered with the wheelchair service you or your carer can contact the service directly for a re-assessment.
