CHANT
Communication Hub for Aphasia in North Tyneside - or CHANT - is a two year project supporting people with long term aphasia (language impairment after stroke) in their local community.
The project aims to:
- help people with long term aphasia return to normal day to day activities
- support people with aphasia to integrate back into their community and the world of work and leisure.
- support their partners and carers to reduce carer strain.
CHANT works closely with multiple partners in the voluntary and public sector, and provides a bridge to existing resources on behalf of people with aphasia and their carers.
How can I access the service?
People are welcome to self-refer to the CHANT service. CHANT will then contact local speech and language therapists to gather details of any previous or ongoing therapy.
