Single equality scheme
North Tyneside Primary Care Trust (PCT) works to promote equality regardless of gender, race and disability as well as eliminating discrimination and harassment.
The single equality scheme (SES) sets out North Tyneside Primary Care Trust's (PCT) commitment to ensuring that equality and human rights are
taken into account in everything we do. This includes providing
services, employing people, developing policies, and consulting with
and involving people in our work.
The single equality scheme is a public commitment detailing how North Tyneside PCT plans to meet the duties placed upon it by equality legislation, for example:
- The Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000
- Disability Discrimination Act 2005
- Sex Discrimination Act as amended by the Equality Act 2006
The SES also sets out how North Tyneside PCT plans to meet the needs and wishes of local people and staff. The scheme includes actions on disability, race, gender, age, religion and belief, and sexual orientation.
The scheme is available to download as a PDF document.
